Sweet and Spicy Pecans

A fun treat for holiday get togethers.

  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1-1/2 t salt
  • 1-1/2 t chili powder
  • 1/2 t cinnamon
  • Pinch cayenne
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 c pecan havles

  1. Preheat oven to 300 deg F and spray a non stick pan with cooking spray.
  2. Mix sugar and spices in a small bowl. Set aside.
  3. Beat the egg white and toss in the pecans to coat.
  4. Sprinkle with spice mixture, coating evenly.
  5. With your fingers, one by one, lift the pecans out and transfer to the baking sheet keeping them separate.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Then cool for 5 minutes.
  7. Transfer to another sheet to cool completely, separating them as needed. They will keep, covered in a dry place, for 5 days.
